What Does It Mean To Be On Chiropractic Wellness?

What does it mean to be on Chiropractic wellness?

Ever wonder if once you start seeing a Chiropractor you’ll have to continuing seeing them forever? Let’s dive into this common question!

It is important to first identify your reason for coming in for Chiropractic care. Perhaps this is for general wellness, and/or injury prevention, however far and away we most commonly see people coming in for Chiropractic care due to and injury or pain. Of course, we all know pain is a great motivator to take action; I’m sure some of you can relate to a point in time where you’ve been stubborn about doing something, but then finally when you started experiencing pain that restricted your ability to work or to enjoy your time-off you finally decided it was time to take action. I believe we have all been there before, so no shame in admitting that!

When you have come in to address a specific injury or pain it is important to set up appropriate goals and timelines between yourself and your Practitioner(s). These goals may include pain reduction, increased range of motion, increased strength, reduced bruising/swelling, etc. At MYo Lab we believe you (the member) should play an active role in setting these goals, as far too often we hear stories of patients coming from other clinic who report they were never asked their goals, nor even told what the goals of the Practitioner were! Typically once these agreed upon goals have been met people feel like the job is done, only to meet up again when things fall apart. At MYo Lab we take a different approach, one of full body wellness.

Of course, we are thrilled you are out of pain, moving better, and have accomplished all your initial treatment goals, but now we want you to sustain all those improvements, rather than sink into the mindset of your next fall-back. With appropriate maintenance treatment we are confident we can work together to keep fires at bay, and keep you doing the things you live/need to do for much much longer!

MYo Lab Chiropractors see the best maintenance results with regular treatments anywhere from every 4-8 weeks, depending on your activity and stress levels (higher = closer to 4 weeks; lower = closer to 8 weeks). Also, by completing these regular maintenance treatments it will actually be far more economical, which is a surprise to many people. Coming in for a treatment every month or two can save you money/benefits when compared to waiting for things to fall apart, at which time you will often need far more treatments in a short amount of time, not to mention potential lost wages from being unable to work!

So, to answer your initial question, yes, it is recommended to see a Chiropractor for the rest of your life, but not every week, and certainly not for the same reason you started seeing your Chiropractor, as that should be resolved within the initial goal-setting timeline. You only get one body, and some of us are harder on ours than ideal, so take care of it today so you can still have your original body later in life, rather than being full of metals from joint replacements and the like! When you start coming in every month or two and your body is not in pain, but rather just a bit sore or tight from normal wear and tear, you have entered into a great wellness mindset, one that can sustain you through the ages and tests of life! You get your teeth, hair, eyes, car maintained regularly, so why not the rest of you?! Click here to book in at MYo Lab today!
