Melissa Chea was born and raised in Calgary, AB. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree at the University of Calgary in 2015, then went on to obtain her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Western University in London, ON in 2017. Her passion for physical rehabilitation began when she was introduced to the world of fitness during her undergraduate studies. Upon volunteering with the University of Calgary's Rehabilitation and Fitness Program and working with individuals with physical disabilities, Melissa had the opportunity to see first-hand the positive impact of physical rehabilitation. From there, she decided to pursue physical therapy as her way to help improve the quality of life of others.
In practice, Melissa emphasizes providing client-centered care. She believes in working with her clients to understand and achieve their individual goals while utilizing an evidence-informed approach to therapy. Melissa specializes in manual therapy, myofascial release, and is completing further education in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy.
